Senior Detection Engineer

Alden Schmidt is a Senior Detection Engineer at Huntress, specializing in macOS threats. With a keen interest in malware analysis, reverse engineering, and threat research, he has authored numerous blogs and delivered talks on these subjects. Prior to Huntress, Alden worked in Incident Response at Yahoo, where he developed automation tools and analyzed advanced cyber threats. He has also held several security research roles, focusing on the security of open-source application ecosystems and nation-state censorship evasion. Alden holds the GIAC Reverse Engineering Malware (GREM) certification and serves on the SANS advisory board.
